Terms of Use for Black Swan: War Impact Map

1. Acceptance of These Terms
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of Black Swan: War Impact Map (“Black Swan” or the
“App”).
The App is published under the developer name GY Signal Studio and operated by Yurii Gevtsi,
Ukraine.

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Description of the App
Black Swan is an independent informational and visualisation project that organises publicly available
reports concerning the effects of Russia’s war inside Russia and related regions.
The App may include:
an interactive map;
event markers;
summaries of publicly reported events;
source references and external links;
filters and categories;
analytical or contextual information;
advertisements;
an optional purchase to remove advertisements;
links to independent organisations supporting Ukraine.
The App is intended to help users explore publicly reported information. It is not an official or complete
record of events.
3. Independent and Unofficial Status
Black Swan and GY Signal Studio are independent.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, the App is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially
connected to:
the Government of Ukraine;
the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
Ukrainian intelligence or security agencies;
any foreign government;
any military organisation;
United24;
Come Back Alive;
the Sternenko Community;
Google;
any news organisation;
any source linked from the App.
References to organisations, governments, media outlets, products, services, or trademarks are used
only for identification, attribution, reporting, commentary, or informational purposes.
4. Nature and Limitations of the Information
Information in the App may be based on:
official statements;
journalism;
publicly available imagery;
public databases;
social-media publications;
reference sources;
open-source research;
third-party reporting.
Inclusion of an event means that it was publicly reported or documented by the cited source. Inclusion
does not necessarily mean that GY Signal Studio independently verified every fact, coordinate, date,
casualty figure, damage estimate, attribution, or claim.
Information may be:
incomplete;
delayed;
approximate;
disputed;
incorrectly translated;
later corrected;
affected by wartime propaganda;
based on sources with different levels of reliability.
Where practical, the App may identify information as reported, corroborated, disputed, corrected, or
otherwise qualified.
5. No Operational or Military Use
The App is not:
an intelligence service;
a real-time operational map;
a targeting system;
a military-planning tool;
an emergency-warning service;
a navigation service;
an official damage-assessment system;
an official sanctions database.
Users must not rely on the App for operational, military, security, emergency, travel, navigation, or
personal-safety decisions.
Event locations may be deliberately generalised or imprecise.
6. No Professional Advice
Information in the App does not constitute:
legal advice;
financial advice;
investment advice;
political consulting;
security advice;
military advice;
emergency advice;
professional risk assessment.
Users should obtain appropriately qualified advice before making decisions that depend on accuracy,
completeness, or current conditions.
7. User Responsibilities
You agree to use the App lawfully and responsibly.
You must not:
interfere with the App’s operation;
attempt unauthorised access to systems or data;
circumvent technical restrictions;
introduce malware or malicious code;
scrape the App in a manner that disrupts its operation;
misrepresent App content as an official government or military statement;
remove source attribution where content is reproduced under permission;
use the App to harass, threaten, or unlawfully target individuals;
use the App in violation of applicable law.
8. Sources and Copyright
The App generally provides original summaries and links to third-party sources.
Ownership of third-party articles, photographs, videos, maps, logos, trademarks, databases, and other
materials remains with their respective owners.
A link or citation does not grant the user permission to reproduce the underlying third-party work.
Users should consult the original source and its applicable terms, licence, and copyright notice.
Where open-licence materials are used, the App will seek to provide the attribution required by the
applicable licence.
9. Corrections and Error Reports
GY Signal Studio aims to correct material errors when they are credibly identified.
Users may report an error by emailing:

A useful report should include:
the relevant event or screen;
the information believed to be incorrect;
supporting sources;
the requested correction.
GY Signal Studio retains editorial discretion concerning:
whether a correction is required;
how information is categorised;
which sources are included;
how disputed claims are described;
whether an entry should be removed.
10. Advertisements
The App may display advertisements provided by Google AdMob or other disclosed advertising services.
Advertisements are supplied by third parties.
GY Signal Studio does not necessarily endorse an advertised product, service, organisation, or claim.
Users should independently assess advertisements before interacting with them or making purchases.
Advertising availability and personalisation may depend on:
location;
consent choices;
device settings;
advertising availability;
applicable law;
provider policies.
11. Optional Remove Ads Purchase
The App may offer an optional one-time Google Play purchase that removes advertising from the App.
Where offered:
the final price is displayed by Google Play;
payment is processed by Google;
the purchase is associated with the relevant Google Play account;
restoration may require use of the same Google Play account;
purchases remain subject to Google Play’s billing, refund, and payment policies;
removal of advertisements does not create a subscription unless explicitly stated;
removal of advertisements does not guarantee permanent availability of the App or every App
feature.
The purchase does not grant ownership of the App, source code, database, trademarks, or third-party
content.
12. External Support Links
The App may provide links to third-party organisations supporting Ukraine.
GY Signal Studio does not process those donations and does not receive users’ payment-card
information.
External donations:
occur outside the App;
are governed by the recipient organisation’s terms;
do not purchase digital content in the App;
do not guarantee any App functionality;
should be independently verified by the user .
13. External Websites
The App may link to third-party websites and applications.
GY Signal Studio is not responsible for:
third-party content;
third-party availability;
malware or security incidents on external sites;
privacy practices;
payment practices;
changes made after a link was added;
inaccuracies in third-party reporting.
Opening external content is at the user’s own discretion.
14. Intellectual Property
Except for identified third-party materials, the following may belong to GY Signal Studio or its licensors:
App design;
original interface elements;
original summaries;
original categorisation;
original graphics;
software code;
branding;
database structure;
selection and organisation of content.
Subject to these Terms, users receive a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable
licence to use the App for lawful personal purposes.
No right is granted to:
sell the App;
redistribute modified copies;
reverse engineer the App except where mandatory law permits;
impersonate GY Signal Studio;
use GY Signal Studio branding without permission.
15. Availability and Changes
GY Signal Studio may:
modify the App;
correct or remove entries;
change source links;
change categories;
add or remove advertising;
add or remove paid features;
suspend features;
discontinue the App.
The App may be temporarily unavailable because of maintenance, third-party failures, network
conditions, legal restrictions, security incidents, or technical problems.
No guarantee is made that the App will always be available or supported.
16. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the App is provided on an “as is” and “as available”
basis.
GY Signal Studio does not warrant that:
all information is accurate;
all information is complete;
all information is current;
every source is reliable;
every location is exact;
every event is independently verified;
the App will be uninterrupted;
the App will be free from errors;
external links will remain available;
the App will meet every user’s expectations.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
17. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, GY Signal Studio and the operator will not be liable for
indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or similar losses arising from:
reliance on App information;
inaccurate or disputed information;
unavailable external sources;
third-party advertisements;
external donations;
technical failures;
loss of data;
inability to use the App;
decisions made using the App.
This limitation does not apply where liability cannot legally be excluded or limited.
18. Indemnity
Where permitted by applicable law, users agree to be responsible for losses or claims resulting from
their unlawful misuse of the App or material violation of these Terms.
This section does not reduce mandatory consumer protections.
19. Termination
GY Signal Studio may restrict or terminate access to the App where reasonably necessary because of:
unlawful use;
security risks;
abuse;
technical requirements;
legal obligations;
discontinuation of the service.
Users may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.
20. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, without prejudice to mandatory consumer
protections that apply in the user’s country of residence.

Nothing in these Terms prevents a consumer from using a competent court, regulator , or mandatory
dispute-resolution mechanism available under applicable law.
21. Changes to These Terms
These Terms may be updated to reflect:
changes to the App;
changes to monetisation;
changes to sources or methodology;
legal requirements;
security considerations;
changes to third-party services.
The current version will show its effective date.
Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance where permitted by applicable law.
